Edgy Fairyland

My latest fashion sketches are inspired by all the magical fashion designs that have been gracing the pages of the latest fashion magazines and websites. These two sketches are out there, but I am happy with the way they came together. The sketch to the left is more sporty, while the sketch to the right is more magical and fairy-like.

Glam and Glitz

Fashion Illustration

Being the artist that I am, I love putting my fashion ideas onto paper. This weeks fashion designs are inspired by Versace and Ancient Greece. The design on the right is inspired by Versace with a low cut neckline and the play with lines, while the dress to the left is inspired by Ancient Greece. The design to the right has a rockstar glitz look to it with the geometric lines and shapes and gold knee high boots. The design to the left has a more glamorous chic look to it. It is flowy and the thick gold belt gives it an ancient greek feel. I was happy with these designs and would love to see them made. I recently bought a sewing machine and I am hoping to bring many of my ideas to life!....after numerous sewing lessons and classes that is :)

Playing with shapes and patterns

So, it has been awhile since my last post and as you can see I have been busy creating my life away. When I begin creating styles, I never know in what direction I am going to go. I never go, ok I am going to do this style or this. The end result of all my designs comes as I begin, and continue drawing. I love playing with different line patterns and colors. I am not one to create any minimalist attire. My designs pop, stand out, and would bring attention to the individual wearing them. I like to push the boundaries and be innovative. I want to do something no one has ever done.

When I look at these sketches and try to dechiper who I may have got my influence from, I come to the conclusion that these styles are heavily influenced by Mary Katrantzou. I have been looking at Mary Katrantzou's designs and styles more than usual recently. I have always been a big fan of her fashion because to me it is fun, innovative, fresh, flirty, and it stands out from the average desginers. Mary Katrantzou uses many fun, playful colors and she uses lines and multiple patterns throughout her designs.

Enjoy these exciting new styles I have created.

Until next time,
